Change is hard, I should know.
On Monday I saw Be Kind Rewind with one of my friends. Before the movie we went to Panera. Know how you have to give a name when you order? Well I gave mine and when the cashier guy saw my debit card he said, “Woah. That’s not what that says. How do you say it?” So I told him. And he repeated it and asked if it was Russian. When I said that it was Polish, he proceeded to tell me that he is a quarter Polish. And then he told me the only thing he knows how to say in Polish, “Daj mi buzi.” Give me a kiss. That’s what it means. The sort of funny thing is that I recently found out that one of my friends from undergrad works at Caribou now. When she was introducing me to the other guy working, she told him that she knew something in Polish too-Daj mi buzi.
Today I went to Little Tokyo for sushi. And it was wonderful. The food was really good and not expensive. AND they gave us a bunch of free food. Seriously. One was something with scallops in a giant shell and there was a tiny fire on the plate beneath it. Then we got a deep fried California roll. And then we got free dessert. I had a Boston roll which had shrimp and lettuce and stuff and I loved it.
I also got my federal tax refund. It made me super happy.
I listened to She & Him today for a while. I really like Zooey Deschanel’s voice. When Tin Man was first on tv, I found out that Zooey Deschanel sang and I found a few of her songs on the Go Getter soundtrack. From the Rolling Stone I found out that she has an album with M. Ward and they’re called She & Him. I love it. I haven’t developed favorites yet, but I really like “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here.”
America’s Next Top Model starts in 9 minutes. Yay Katarzyna!
Anybody else want to come to Cary to have lunch or dinner tomorrow or Friday?
Love,
Me
